The next generation of EDM producers is stepping up, with W&W bearing the flag of today's promise. No need to wait much longer. After merely 4 years of warming up, the duo sets things alight with the long-awaited debut album 'Impact'. Though there's plenty of challenges left on their to-do list, Dutch producers Willem van Hanegem and Ward van der Harst no longer play the game of rookies. W&W met up at the infamous Trance Energy event in 2007, to witness their first collaboration 'Mustang' blow away that same crowd only a year later. A unique sound, fusing the melody of trance and electrifying beat of electro with the energy of techno, was born. Now, three years later, the duo has solidified into one of the freshest, most exciting electronic dance acts on the scene. W&W originals 'Arena', 'Mainstage', 'Alpha' and 'AK-47' were instant favourites, as well as their remixes for Armin van Buuren, Marcel Woods, Allure and Aly & Fila. The energetic sets they played at events such as Trance Energy, Tomorrowland and A State of Trance 450 and 500, several Global Gathering events and Nature One to name a few, along with their weekly 'Mainstage' radio show, resulted in a new entry at number 71 of last year's DJ Mag Top 100. First edition of the newly born Electronic Family kicked off in Amsterdamse Bos , near Amsterdam on July the 30th. The sold out festival was hosted by Armin van Buuren under his A State of Trance print out with the help of Nadia Ali and the Armin Only Mirage crew. It was a 12 hours outdoors show with a jaw-breaking line up . .One of the evening's highlights was Armin's triple back-to-back with Markus Schulz , Ferry Corsten and Gareth Emery but also Sied van Riel , Aly & Fila , Alex MORPH , Simon Patterson and the freshely reunited Gabriel & Dresden made the fans roar like there was no tomorrow.Being a full Armin van Buuren production Electronic Family was second to none in terms of trance summer festivals and the massive crowd witnessed to a beautiful fireworks show at the end of Armin's astonishing 2 hours set.Undoubtedly it was a night to remember and we are so looking forward to next year's edition.
